KFAS Launched the “AI for Teachers” Program in Collaboration with Cambridge University

The education sector in Kuwait took a significant step toward enhancing the skills of teaching staff in modern technologies when the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) announced on 18 November 2025 the launch of the “AI for Teachers” program. The initiative was implemented in partnership with Cambridge University Press & Assessment, which designed the scientific content and provided guidance and mentorship to program participants.
Enhancing Digital Literacy among STEM Educators
KFAS stated that the professional development program aimed to strengthen digital literacy in artificial intelligence (AI) among teachers of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and to enable them to effectively integrate AI tools in the classroom to improve teaching quality and learning outcomes.
The professional development program was introduced with the aim of enhancing digital awareness and literacy in the field of artificial intelligence among teachers of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

A Hybrid Training Model Combining Online and Practical Learning
The Foundation explained that the program followed a hybrid training model, starting with online learning via a specialized platform, followed by intensive in-person workshops held at Kuwait University. This approach provided a practical learning environment where participants could directly apply the skills they acquired in their classrooms.
KFAS added that the program focused on hands-on practices to help teachers safely and efficiently incorporate AI tools into lesson planning, assessment, and the design of interactive activities, fostering student creativity. The curriculum also emphasized active learning methods, project-based activities, and responsible practices that take into account ethical considerations and data protection.
Fifty Teachers Participated, with Opportunities for Trainer Development
The program benefited fifty teachers from various educational sectors, including public schools, universities, and applied education institutions. AI education specialists conducted the training and mentorship. Additionally, the top ten participants were selected to advance to a Train-the-Trainer stage, preparing a national cadre capable of sharing their expertise across educational institutions.
Aligned with KFAS’s Vision for an Innovative Educational Future
KFAS emphasized that the program’s launch aligned with its strategic goals to develop human capacities and support the integration of advanced technologies in education, in line with its vision: “A Solid Legacy… An Innovative Future.” The collaboration with Cambridge University Press & Assessment also reflected KFAS’s commitment to leveraging prestigious international partnerships to empower teachers with cutting-edge knowledge and tools.
