His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, paid a visit to Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (KFAS), where he was briefed on the latest programs and initiatives aimed at identifying and nurturing talented and creative Kuwaiti youth.
SACGC is considered a leading national platform in the fields of science, innovation, and technology. It has registered more than 520 patents in global markets and achieved a commercial success rate exceeding 20% — a high figure compared to international benchmarks.
Over the past three years, more than 23,000 students have benefited from the center’s diverse programs, designed to develop the skills of young Kuwaitis in science, engineering, and technology, while fostering a spirit of innovation.
The center operates under the direct guidance and continuous support of KFAS and has built a strong network of strategic partnerships with world-renowned institutions such as Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, Imperial College London, University of Cambridge, Plug and Play, IE University, and Mind the Bridge.

In a new achievement added to Kuwait’s record of supporting gifted and creative youth, SACGC won the Sheikh Salem AlAli Al Sabah Informatics Award in its 24th edition for 2024, recognizing its leadership and excellence in digital innovation and in using technology in education and nurturing talent.
The announcement was made at an official ceremony, where SACGC was chosen among elite participants from Kuwait and the Arab world. Bassam AlShammari, head of the award’s Supreme Organizing Committee, said competition was strong and featured distinguished institutions and individuals in the digital innovation space. He highlighted that the award was judged based on objective technical criteria related to quality of digital performance and its societal impact.

Kuwaiti talents shine in the world of robotics.
Kuwait recently concluded the Sabah AlAhmad Summer Competitions 2025, organized by Sabah AlAhmad Center for Giftedness & Creativity (KFAS), in an atmosphere full of technological creativity and excitement.
The finals were held on Friday, September 12, at the multipurpose hall in the Al-Arabi Sports Club, with more than 150 students of various ages participating.
This event marked a milestone for the participants, who had prepared over weeks to take on advanced scientific and technical challenges in contests qualifying them for the global Robotics competition in Estonia.
HighLevel Technical Competitions
The final rounds included four main challenges:
• Drone Contest: Participants programmed autonomous drones to navigate a hidden, obstaclefilled course, showcasing their precision in both design and programming.
• Sumo Robot Competition: Targeting ages 10–13, where students-built robots from LEGO to push opponents off a closed arena, combining strategy and programming.
• LineFollowing Competition: Robots tracked a black line on white surface, at high speed, with great accuracy.
• “Journey in Kuwait” / Programming Knights: A new contest inspired by Kuwait Vision 2035. A robot (MATATA LAB) is programmed to traverse a maze, visit specific locations in Kuwait, overcome obstacles, and reach the goal as quickly as possible.
Celebrating Kuwaiti Talent
The finale was festive; learning and fun combined. The parents of participants showed great pride in the progress and the students’ high skills. The event reinforced how science and technology play pivotal roles in building Kuwait’s bright future. Wishes were extended to the finalists headed for global competitions in Estonia, with the belief that this was just the beginning of more achievements.
Kuwait Illuminates the Sky of Innovation
Robotics Olympiad 2025 Concludes
As part of a new initiative to foster a culture of innovation and technological education within Kuwaiti society, the World Robotics Olympiad – Kuwait 2025 concludes on May 19, under the sponsorship of Sheikh Hamoud Jaber AlAhmad Al Sabah, Governor of AlAhmadi, who honored the event with his presence and support for the rising national talents.
An Early Start to Excellence

Kuwait began preparing for the global season from January 15, being among the first countries to activate its national programs under WRO. Organizers reached out to over 180 educational institutions to encourage students aged 8 to 22 to participate; for the first time, university students were included.
The national program included three main categories:
• Task Robots
• Innovators of the Future
• Engineers of the Future

National Competitions with Global Standards
The final qualifiers in the event held at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) facilities in AlAhmadi, involved over 240 students in 83 teams, with more than 1,000 visitors attending. These numbers indicates an outstanding sign of public awareness towards science and technology roles.
At the end, four teams were selected to represent Kuwait in the global finals in Singapore, along with nine teams that will compete regionally in Saudi Arabia, Panama, the Philippines, and Slovenia.
SACGC played a central role as the strategic partner, providing training, technical support, and equipment, especially for the «Task Robots” and «Future Innovators” categories. The initiatives reflect the center’s vision to equip Kuwaiti youth with futureready skills in an interactive and practical learning environment.
Toward Global Reach
Kuwaiti teams are now in intensive preparation for the international contests set for September and October 2025, joining over 20 countries in this global initiative.

Kuwaiti Talents Launch Towards Global Stage

In a unique educational experience blending technology, engineering, and teamwork, Sabah AlAhmad Center for Giftedness & Creativity launched the national version of «STEM Racing” this year, in partnership with the global Formula 1 organization. It grants Kuwaiti students a real interaction with the miniature Formula 1 racing world.
From Registration to Challenge
The program began early summer with many applications from 15 to16 year olds. After comprehensive evaluations, including STEM experience and video submissions, the selected students progressed to the training phase.
Participants were split into teams, where each team member had defined roles: design engineer, project manager, marketeer, and graphic designer. Teams designed and built miniature racing cars using CAD and 3D printing, with focus on aerodynamics and team branding.
Qualifying for the World Stage
On July 31, SACGC held the national final event where teams competed to represent Kuwait globally. After a day full of showcasing technical and creative competition, two teams were selected to represent Kuwait in Formula 1 in Schools competition at Singapore, scheduled from September 25 to October 1, 2025.
The two qualifying teams are:
• NAGA Racing
• SADU Racing
They are now preparing to compete on the global stage, proudly representing Kuwait with high levels of innovation, engineering, and professionalism.
An Educational Vision Forward
This program is part of an exclusive partnership between SACGC and Formula 1, aimed at developing futureoriented skills among Kuwaiti youth in engineering design, marketing, leadership, and teamwork, in a setting that mimics real-world racing teams. The University Preparation Program «PRE” Experience:
In a step aimed at enabling students to explore their academic future early, SACGC concluded the first edition of the PRE (PreUniversity Readiness) Program, implemented in cooperation with Kuwait University’s Faculties of Medicine and Engineering.
Closer to University Majors Through Real Experience
The program targeted students from grades 10 to 12 in the academic year 2025/2026, assigning participants to join the Medicine or Engineering track depending on their interests. Through workshops, lectures, and field visits, students experienced a version of university life, helping them discover their fields of interest and develop both professional and personal skills.
Empowering Learning Through Strong Academics and Student Inspiration![]()
In medicine, students covered core topics like anatomy, pharmacology, general surgery, and health sciences. In engineering, they engaged with electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering specialties, focusing on handson applications, problemsolving, and analytical thinking.
Participants described the experience as «unique and inspiring,” especially with the inclusion of students from Saudi Arabia and Qatar alongside Kuwaitis—this diversity enriched knowledge exchange and fostered academic and professional connections.

SACGC Launches New Program
to Drive Engineering Innovation in Kuwait

In a strategic move to enhance engineering innovation and align technical ideas with market needs, SACGC launched the Engineering Ideas Incubator Program, in partnership with IE University in Madrid, engaging an elite group of international experts in innovation and entrepreneurship.
From Idea to Prototype
The program started on May 4, 2025, and runs until midOctober. It began with over 80 participants (engineers, students, innovators) tackling vital challenges in Kuwait—such as those related to energy, water, environment, and digital transformation.
21 participants were chosen to move onto the next phase, where they receive mentorship from specialized experts to develop their innovations into viable prototypes.

Heading Toward a Global Showcase
After the mentorship period ends in October, SACGC will hold a Demo Day, where each participant presents their invention before a panel of experts.
Only three projects will be selected to represent Kuwait at Venture Day at IE University in Madrid in December 2025, giving innovators the chance to present to global investors and startups.

Kuwaiti Talent Shines Globally:
A New Scientific Highlights for our Heroes of Physics and Chemistry

In a scientific accomplishment that highlights Kuwait’s ambition to build a creative generation capable of global competition, SACGC concluded its intense national preparation program for the International Physics Olympiad in France and the International Chemistry Olympiad in the UAE. The program featured outstanding participation from high school students across Kuwait.
Rigorous Selection… Only the Best Go Global
The journey began with 300 students—150 in Physics and 150 in Chemistry. Through successive rounds of rigorous eliminations and advanced training, that number was narrowed to 100, then 50, then 13.
In the final stage, five students were chosen for the Physics Olympiad, and four for the Chemistry Olympiad.

Exceptional Experiences & Advanced Knowledge
The participants encountered demanding internationallevel exams, including questions that even some PhD holders might find challenging.
They returned to Kuwait with new knowledge—advanced matrices, novel scientific approaches—and with increased confidence in their academic future.

This program is part of SACGC’s «11%” initiative, aimed at increasing the number of Kuwaiti students in international science Olympiads, enabling them to compete at high levels.

An International Enrichment Program Granting Talented Students an Exceptional Academic Experience

SACGC recently completed its 2025 International Enrichment Program, enabling 56 high school students from Kuwaiti public and private schools to embark on an exceptional academic journey with worldrenowned universities and institutions.
Real Educational Experience in the US, UK, and Saudi Arabia
Students participated in intensive summer programs over several weeks across universities like Johns Hopkins, Yale, and Penn in the United States, and Imperial College London and Fitzwilliam College (University of Cambridge) in the UK. Additionally, three students joined the Mawhiba program in Saudi Arabia, which supports gifted students through advanced learning opportunities.
These programs combine academic and experiential learning, aiming to help students explore various majors and make wellinformed decisions about their academic paths before graduating high school.
