As part of its mission to disseminate scientific knowledge and promote a culture of innovation, the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) announced the launch of
Science Month
2025, which was held under the theme “Oceans: From Imagination to Discovery.” The theme extended an open invitation to the public to explore the world of seas, dive into the mysteries of the oceans, and connect Kuwait’s rich maritime heritage with modern science and future innovations.
Science Month had been a well-established annual tradition that celebrated science, technology, and innovation through a wide range of interactive activities offered over an entire month. These programs were designed to ignite curiosity among young people, stimulate their scientific imagination, and provide opportunities for hands-on exploration for all segments of society.
Official Launch at the Scientific Center
KFAS held the official launch ceremony on Thursday, 13 November 2025, at The Scientific Center, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The event marked the beginning of a month filled with scientific and educational activities. The opening ceremony featured interactive demonstrations and scientific showcases that introduced visitors to the new theme and offered an overview of the programs and activities that took place across Kuwait throughout the month.
Under the slogan ‘Oceans… From Imagination to Discovery,’ it reflected an invitation to the public to explore the world of the seas and dive into the secrets of the oceans.

More Than Thirty Activities for All Audiences
The Science Month presented more than 30 scientific activities across various locations in Kuwait, with wide participation from schools, universities, research centers, and the general public. These activities provided a comprehensive educational experience for children, youth, students, and families, giving them the opportunity to engage directly with science in stimulating and enjoyable environments.
Oceans: From Imagination to Discovery
The theme reflected a comprehensive vision rooted in the importance of marine and ocean sciences as key elements for sustaining life on Earth. By merging imagination with discovery, the program invited participants to delve into the depths of marine ecosystems

and explore the scientific and environmental challenges associated with oceans.
The theme also blended Kuwait’s rich maritime heritage with modern scientific and technological advancements, creating a framework that connected the past with the future through the lens of science.
This year, ‘Science Month’ presented more than 30 scientific events held at multiple locations across Kuwait, with broad participation from schools, universities, and research centers.

Scientific Topics Spanning Oceans to Outer Space
The Science Month 2025 program covered a wide array of scientific fields, including:
-
• Marine and coastal ecosystems
-
• Underwater exploration and emerging technologies
-
• Innovation, technology, and artificial intelligence
-
• Robotics and data science
-
• Space sciences, including observations of the solar system, asteroids, and moons
These topics offered the public an integrated perspective on scientific progress both locally and globally, while highlighting the research and applied roles of Kuwait’s scientific institutions.

Educational Programs and Community Initiatives
The year’s season featured a diverse set of educational and community initiatives, including STEAM programs for teachers, specialized training workshops, beach-cleaning campaigns, and activities for observing bird migrations and celestial movements. The program also included scientific documentation initiatives on Kuwait’s maritime heritage, offering visitors engaging, interactive ways to explore the nation’s historical relationship with the sea.
Transforming Passion for Science into Impact

KFAS emphasized that Science Month was not merely a celebration of knowledge, but a platform for transforming scientific passion into solid understanding—and turning that understanding into real developmental impact that supported Kuwait’s progress and innovation. With that year’s focus on ocean and marine sciences, the season opened doors for the public to engage in a rich scientific experience that inspired minds and strengthened Kuwait’s role in global efforts that celebrated science as a driver of development and a bridge between cultures.
